John 14:7,8
Jesus: “Now you do know Him [My Father]. You’ve even seen Him.” Philip: “Master, show us the Father, then we’ll be content.”
Papa, are we too like Philip—missing entirely Your words, because our focus is on ourselves and our agenda? Where am I today asking You for the very thing You have already spoken and promised, and telling You that then I’ll be content? Sounds way too familiar.
Please help me to listen…to listen well…to be still enough to really hear…to allow Your Words to go deep within where they really penetrate and become my lived experience. And not to keep asking You for things You have already promised. To live trustfully.
